Diagnose a batch of deliveries and spot the one that changed

Each file is parsed in turn, locally. Differences from the first file — encoding, delimiter, header, width — are listed per item.

Two ways to run

  • Detect per file: every file gets its own encoding and dialect detection. Use this to discover that Tuesday’s export switched to semicolons.
  • One saved setting for all: load a settings file from the Settings & code tab and every file is parsed exactly the same way, so the per-file counts are comparable.

What is kept

Only the summary per file is kept: detected settings, confidence, expected width, ledger counts and status. Record contents are not retained, and the downloadable summary contains no rows.

Questions

How many files can I add?

There is no fixed count; files are processed one after another, so memory use is bounded by the largest single file.

Can I repair files in batch mode?

No. Open a single file in the main tool to repair and export it.
